A Birthday Wish You Can Help Grant

I saw this birthday wish http://www.infarrantlycreative.net/on a new blog I just discovered. I thought it would be fun to try and make her wish come true; so in keeping with the age old tradition of granting birthday wishes let's see if we can help her friend win.  Now follow the link, do as the instructions say and cast your vote for Jim.  And while you are at it stop by and wish Beckie a happy birthday.

Did Ali Pick The Right One?

While I have been Team Chris from the very beginning of this season's The Bachlorette Ali was very obiviously Team Roberto.   Her reaction when he got out of the limo on the first night was a dead give away.  Did she pick the right guy for her?  Only time will tell.

While they certainly looked like they were "in love" last night on the After the Final Rose show, my guess is that physical attraction once again won out over the guy who wants a true relationship and allow love to grow over time. I am afraid that we will be seeing the "It's Over with Ali and Roberto" headlines when they get back to the real world and the flame of romance has not only flickered but gone completely out.

I will give Ali this much, she certainly seems to be a woman who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it. Too make the decision to break up with Chris on the day of their final date was a testament to that.  I felt bad for him, but the way he handled the whole situation shows what a classy guy he really is.  Trust me Chris there is a girl out there for you.  One who will appreciate the fact that you are willing to go into a relationship in a very realistic way.

I do hope it all works out for Ali and Roberto, but can someone please tell me why these couples have to move in together from the very second the ring goes on the finger?   Girls, don't move in he will marry you quicker!

Oh, and one last thought.  This is a show that spent big dollars traveling all over the world this season (Iceland, Portugual, Tahaiti, Bora, Bora) knowing that Roberto was the last guy standing couldn't they have at least found a suit that fit him properly.  I thought for sure he was going to bust right out of it when he knelt to propose.

I'm curious how many of you think Ali and Roberto will actually make it down the aisle?

Happy Independence Day 2010

I know I am a little behind (as usual) in posting about our July 4th weekend, but it has been crazy hectic around here.  I find myself asking the question "whatever happened to those lazy days of summer" more and more.

Anyway our weekend consisted of me participating in the Woodstock Market and Show.  This is an event I do the first weekend of every month from March-December.  Although this is the first year I have done the July 4th holiday.  Last year I was a vendor in what is supposed to be a big show on the Square in Marietta.  Granted there were a lot of people there but they were either there for the parade in the morning or the fireworks that evening.  So I decided to try the show in Woodstock this year.  Unfortunately both shows were a bit of a dissappointment on the sales side.  I think it has to do with the holiday itself.  There is just so much else going on from parades to cook-outs to fireworks that I don't think anyone is thinking about shopping.  I probably won't do another show on the 4th going forward.

I had alot of fun being there anyway.  We had 80 vendors, which always makes the atomsphere a lot more vibrant.  There was karoke and lots of creative ways folks showed their red, white and blue spirit.

This little guy was so cute.  He did his best Michael Jackson impression

This guy was hilarious.  He sang an old country song about being humble.  The ladies in the crowd kept going up and putting dollar bills in his pockets.

Sometimes you see things you least expect to.

We celebrate on July 3rd by going to the house that my daughter's in-laws own in the heart of one of the little cities here locally.  Their backyard backs right up to where the city sets off their fireworks.  So we all gather in the backyard for a big cookout and then watch the fireworks.  We eat lots of food and play games until the fireworks start.  It's a great time for everyone, but I think the kids have the most fun.

There was more inside the house..............

Setting up the fireworks.  That's the in-law's  garden.

Two cutie pies showing their American spirit.

Friends and...............

Family galore.

We used garland in new ways.

and

Compared our fancy footwear.

A great time was had by all.  This "little" event keeps growing every year and I can't wait to see who will be there next year.  Hope y'all had as much fun on the 4th as we did.

Milk and Cookie Birthday Party for Princess K

Princess K turned 2 on June 20th.  Since we spent the week before her birthday at the beach her party was postponed for a week.  Her Mom did a great job with planning a fun party around her theme of milk and cookies inspired by the book "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie".

She decorated with cookies in jars scattered through out the house.

She used pink, brown and white as the color scheme.

Pink is Princess K's favorite color which inspired the cake and her dress.

The fun activity for the girls was to decorate their own cookies.  The cookies and a small box of either chocolate or strawberry milk was supposed to go in their gift bags, however the girls all ate their cookies.

The cookie decorating table before the girls got started.

The bags the cookies were supposed to go in.

She served pizza.  This is the biggest pizza I have ever seen!

Princess K and Queen B in their reversible party dresses.  The girls picked out the fabric on a recent trip to the fabric store.  I had them cut out before we went to the beach but for some reason I was still working on them at the last minute.

Every girl needs flowers in her hair, especially if they match her party dress.  These were really easy to make and they turned out oh so cute.

There were gifts galore!

The girls were so excited to see what Princess K got that it got just a wee bit croweded at gift opening time.

It was a great party and everyone had a terrific time!

Oh, guess what Queen B will be doing in the Fall.......
