What Did You Do With Your Weekend?

I was supposed to be a vendor at the Woodstock Market and Show last weekend.  It is a local show that I do the first weekend of each month.  The only challenge is it is held outside in the parking lot of the former Wal Mart building.  Usually I love being outside, but when the weather report was calling for 10-25 mph winds and temps. in the high 40's - low 50's I wimped out and decided to not do the show.  I really hated not being there because it is my favorite event.  I absolutely love the people that put it on and have made some great friends over the last year.

Since the weather was so lousy on Friday and Saturday I took advantage of having to be indoors and got caught up on embroidery orders and some projects I have been wanting to do for a while.

Ever since I saw this project here http://www.graceviolet.com/2010/08/lunch-tote.html I have been wanting to do something similar.  Well we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast on Saturday morning and guess what found....reusable shopping bags with the perfect print for Thanksgiving.

I thought they would make cute pillows for the bench on my front porch.  They were really simple to make.  All I did was cut the panels off along the sides, bottoms and cut the tops off.  Then I just stuffed them and this is what I ended up with.

They work perfect with the fall display on the front porch.  I need to take a picture of that to show you before the Christmas decorations go up next week.

These are just two of the orders we worked on.   We had pillows, towels, market baskets, sweatshirts, blankets and more to finish.  Several of the items are for Christmas presents and I don't want to give away any of the secrets so I will have to show those a little later.

I also played around with this.  It's not finished yet, but when it is I will post pictures.  I have a few more ideas of what I want to do with it.

I also made some more of these to go with their Christmas outfits.

Then went shopping with these cuties.

Hope you had a great weekend too.

Election Day 2010

I do not like this Uncle Sam, I do not like his health care scam .I do not like these dirty crooks, or how they lie and cook the books. I do not like when Congress steals, I do not like their secret deals. I do not like this speaker Nan, I do not like this 'YES, WE CAN'. I do not like this spending spree---I'm smart, I know that nothing's free.

I do not like smug replies, when I complain about your lies. I do not like this kind of hope. I do not like it. Nope, nope, nope!

I voted my convictions.  Now go vote yours.....

It's Been A Very Busy Fall....

And we are just entering the busiest part!  This has probably been one of the busiest Fall's we have ever had, but I love every minute of it.

We have endulged in all the activities that Fall has to offer.  From football games to pumpkin patches and back.  We have spent time with family and friends and enjoyed every moment.

We had a special treat on October 16th when we spent the day with our daughter and son-in-love at the University of Georgia homecoming game.  We won the tickets in a silent auction that was held by the Student Ministry at our church to raise money for the students to attend Student Leadership University in Florida. Our seats were awesome the weather was perfect and the company was special.

Oh yeah, UGA WINS!

There have been baby showers, 40th wedding anniversary parties and bridal showers galore.

I made this tutu for a very special baby girl due to make her arrival in March 2011.  I had the honor of directing her mommy and daddy's wedding a few years ago. I am more than excited for them as they add to their family.

Our frriends Jim and Angie celebrated their 40th wedding anniversay Friday night with a vow renewal and surrounded by friends and family.  What a testimony to their children and grandchildren of what marriage is really all about.

Of course you can't celebarate anything remotely related to weddings without cake....

Candy......

Or chocolate!

We have had fun playing but now it is time to get to work.  I have 3 more shows this year that I need to finish getting ready for.  The first one is this weekend.  The weather is finally catching up with the calendar in our part of the work and we are liable to either be cold or get blown away.  Here's hoping we will only be cold.
